Select two contrasting songs of your choice. The contrast should include differences in mood and tempo. Do not choose two fast songs or two slow songs.

Both songs must be memorized, and a total time limit of 8 minutes is allowed.

The following vocal publications are approved for use, other songs will have to be approved (please email music to musicwest@usw.salvationarmy.org).

Psalms, Hymns, & Spiritual Songs (USA East) 4 Part

Sing Praise! (USA South) 3 Part

Sing to The Lord (U.K.) Mostly 4 parts (some extend beyond that)

Accompaniment:   

Territorial Level – All accompaniments for Youth Vocal Ensembles will be live – no pre-recorded tracks. There will be a designated accompanist on-site. 

Divisional Level – Divisional Music Directors can use their own discretion for Youth Vocal Ensembles at the Divisional Encore Competition. While live accompaniment it always preferred, an accompanist may not be available therefore using the accompaniment track at the corps or divisional level is encouraged. Participation at the corps level is the goal.

Age: 11-21 by June 1, 2024 – minimum 4 members
